Air Fryer Whole Chicken
Doing a whole chicken in the air fryer gives you rotisserie style chicken with a crispy skin without a lot of extra grease. Plus unlike grocery store rotisserie chicken it’s not going to come out mushy because it hasn’t been sitting for hours in the case…
Cooking Time: 1 hour
1 whole chicken. I usually go for a 3 pound bird because that fits well into our air fryer
Seasoned Salt to taste
Other spices to taste (I like Penzey’s Arizona Seasoning or BBQ 3000)
Pre-heat air fryer to 360 degrees (F).
Remove giblets and neck (if present) and cover in a thin layer of olive oil. (Cooking spray also works well)
Sprinkle seasoned salt/spices on the chicken.
Place bird breast side down in the basket and bake for 30 minutes. (You realize that the air fryer is just a fancy convection oven, right?)
After 30 minutes, flip over with tongs and bake for 30 more minutes.
Check with a meat thermometer for safety (poultry should be cooked to 165 degrees F). Check in the thickest part of the thigh, but not touching bone.
